How to Apply
To apply to Chesterfield Speciality Training Programme, you will need to go through the GP Selection Process which is managed by the GP National Recruitment Office on behalf of all UK deaneries.

Applications are submitted online via www.gprecruitment.org.uk  You are allowed to submit one application and can indicate up to four deaneries in preference order. Chesterfield Speciality Training Scheme is part of the East Midlands Deanery.

An applicant’s guide is available here.

Applicants should read the “How to submit an online application” guide before attempting to complete the online form.

The selection process has 4 stages:

Stage 1 Demonstrating and assessing eligibility.
Applicants will be long listed against essential eligibility criteria.
The criteria are available here: Eligibility Criteria.

Stage 2 Assessment 1 (MMT)
The assessment consists of two machine marked papers. Applicants are expected to achieve the minimum acceptable standards in both papers. The results are standardised to produce a ranked score.

Stage 3 Assessment 2 (Selection Centre)
This assessment will include a patient simulation, a group discussion and a prioritisation exercise and takes place in the deanery Selection Centre. You will be allocated to a Selection Centre dependant on your rank in the initial assessment and your preferred deanery. It is here that you can then rank your preferred training programme with in the deanery. We hope you will consider Chesterfield Speciality Training Programme.

Stage 4 Allocation and Offer
Programmes will be allocated to successful candidates depending upon performance at the SAC, the training programme required and availability of a suitable vacancy. It is expected that deaneries will be unable to offer all successful candidates a training programme.
